What Android games to expect in 2017!

2016 offered us a huge array of technological advances, most notable additions such as Pokemon Go (which focused heavily on augmented reality) and everyone’s favorite Christmas present, Google Cardboard, or a variation of it, which focused on the Virtual Reality side of technology.

2017 will no doubt implement these even further, as well as throw in a few more features into the mix for good measure. In the mean time, to help you all get excited about what’s on the horizon, we’ve put together a list of some Android games that are coming out in 2017 that you should definitely take note of.  (Due to them not yet being released, there’ll be no links to direct you to, with the exception of Super Mario Run).

So without further ado, lets get things started:

 Super Mario Run

This has already been released onto the Apple Market and is set to be released for Android rather shortly. You can pre-register your interest by following the link above. The game has a rather cool premise of being able to be played with just one hand. It sees our trusted hero Mario constantly running, and you’ll need to use a variety of perfectly-timed jumps to navigate and avoid obstacles, while collecting coins and reaching the end. It looks like a lot of fun, and you can challenge your friends. Definitely pre-register your interest so you can be ready on the day it’s released.

Marvels Guardians of the Galaxy: A Telltale Game Series

There isn’t a lot known yet about this adventure game, and chances are it the release will probably coincide with the next movie which is around the end of April. The two things we do know: One is that you’ll take control of the heroes as you move around the universe unraveling the story and completing missions. The second is that Telltale games are the same team behind The Walking Dead games. That means it should be amazing, as they focus a lot on story-telling and immersing the player within their games. This is one game to get very excited about.

Yu-Gi-Oh! Duel Links

Next up is Yu-Gi-Oh! Duel Links. The Yu-Gi-Oh strategy card games have been around since the GameBoy Advance era, and thanks to the huge mobile gaming industry, it has gotten even better and developed perfectly for your Android device. You’ll need to construct the perfect deck from over 700 authentic cards from the series as you battle people in real-time PvP duels. The beauty of mobile gaming is that you can literally play against people from all over the world. Of course, you’re not limited to just online play, so you can master your strategy in the single player mode first if you’d prefer.

Potion Explosion

Potion Explosion is looking like a very impressive puzzle game which can be played either online against players or offline in the single player mode. You’ll become a student of the Horribilorum Sorcery Academy and the aim is to design as many potions as you can. There’s a handy tutorial to help you learn the basics, and you can request help during the game (although don’t expect the help to give you all the answers!) It’s probably best to play some games offline to get the hang of things before taking it to the next level and battling players from around the world. One of the main qualities of this game is the gorgeous animations and stunning graphics that accompany the game play. It’ll leave you eager for more and is due out in Q1 of this year (so hopefully anytime between January and March).

Tokyo Ghoul: Dark WarImage 6 What Android games to expect in 2017!
Last on our list is Tokyo Ghoul: Dark War. It’s a combination of both RPG and action and is based on the anime and manga series. You’ll be set in a world which is plagued by ghouls, who look eerily human. Humanity are quite rightly fearful of these ghouls as they feast on the flesh of humans (You’re excited already…aren’t you?) There is of course a side to face these evil monsters, the CCG, or The Commission of Counter Ghoul forces. You’ll be able to select a side, whether to help vanquish the ghouls or whether to become one of them and destroy the human race. You’ll then work your way through real-time action as you progress through the episodic story-line, elegantly interwoven between the action. You can also play online, either the standard PvP mode or a 1v1, 3v3 or 5v5 battle. It sounds like a lot of fun and is expected in Q2 of this year.
