Best Apps to Kick-start your Dating & Social Life at University like Tinder

Trying to expand your social circle at university can either be extremely easy or almost impossible. Throw in the added extra of dating and everything can get a little bit complicated.

We’ve chosen a handful of apps that can help you find and chat to people near you. Of course you might have heard of Tinder, and so you’re not looking for a way to make friends but you just want to find a compatible match to enjoy a night with. Yes, there are apps for that too.If you have discovered an app which we haven’t listed which is great for students at university to meet people and socialize through, let us know in the comments.

  1. Tinder

    Tinder

If you haven’t been hiding under a rock for the last couple of years, you’ll know what Tinder is already, but if somehow you don’t, here’s some info for you. You become a member, and you’ll receive images of the gender you’re looking for. You swipe one way if you like what you see and the other if you don’t. If you both like each other, you can chat, meet and do whatever else it is you have planned.

  2. OkCupid Dating

    OkCupid Dating

OkCupid is a flirting app that helps you make new friends or try and find the ideal partner. Depending on your preferences and interests, you’ll get compatibility results for friendship, relationships and enemies no matter what. You will also get notified about potential contacts within the same area as you.

  3. [adsense]
  4. Coffee Meets Bagel Dating App

    Coffee Meets Bagel Dating App

This is kind of like a sibling of Tinder, you sign up with your Facebook account and everyday you will receive one ‘bagel’ (a mutual friend of a friend from your Facebook). You can choose to like or pass that particular bagel within 24 hours, and if you both ‘like’ each other then you can chat privately to arrange meeting. A fun way to meet people without leaving your room.

  5. Snapchat

    Snapchat

Snapchat has transformed itself against all odds into a fully-featured image sharing app. Not only that but it’s extremely popular and is a must-have app if you’re wanting to expand your social circle. You can add filters, effects and text to your images and set a time limit of how long it can be viewed for.

  6. Meetup

    Meetup

We finish this list with Meetup. It’s a lovely little app that helps you meet people with similar interests as you. Say for instance you’re an avid rock climber, meet other rock climbers from the app. The app isn’t limited to rock climbing though so have a look and see what friends you can meet.

So there you have it, five great apps you may or may not have tried out before. Download them, try them out and see if you can find new friends who are waiting to be discovered.
