7. Change your Phone Number or Delete Your Account:
If you have a new number, you don’t need to uninstall WhatsApp just to add your new number. Instead, open up the app and tap the three little dots in the top right-hand side again and select ‘Settings‘. From there just navigate to ‘Account‘ and then ‘Change Number‘. Alternatively, from that same screen, you can select ‘Delete Account‘ if you’ve decided you don’t want to use WhatsApp any longer.
8. Install WhatsApp on an Android Tablet:
Technically WhatsApp is designed only for mobile phones, that said it is rather easy to get over this little hurdle and install it onto a tablet. You can read the full tutorial here but to sum up, you simply need to download the .apk file, install it (your device needs to be set so it allows installs outside of the Play Store) and follow the onscreen instructions from the app.
9. Get Your WhatsApp Messaging Statistics:
If you’re a bit of a statistic lover or just want to see how much you and your family or friends message each other, you just need to install an app called WhatStat. It provides loads of cool information that you probably wouldn’t have even thought you could get your hands on.
10. Send 2 Images in 1:
If you need to send more than one image at a time all you need to do is click on the paperclip icon at the top right-hand side of screen, (in the conversation you want to send it to) and then select ‘Gallery‘. From there just long press for a couple of seconds on a particular photo and you’ll then get the chance to tap as many as you wish to send all in one message.
11. Schedule a Message in Advance:
If you always forget birthdays or if you just need to message someone something later but are writing it now, you can schedule the message for a particular time or day. You’ll need to download something like SeeBye Scheduler for WhatsApp. Open the app and write a new message, set when you want it delivered and choose a contact. (The app will automatically sync with your contacts so you can easily pick out your friend who is about to turn a year older.)
12. Activate and Use WhatsApp Web:
Not many people know that you can use WhatsApp from a laptop or desktop computer. It’s amazing actually how few people do know about it. That said it is a great way of staying in touch with your friends if your device is dead or not working right. Simple go to web.whatsapp.com and follow the onscreen instructions to activate your account on whatever it is you are using to access the web. You will need to have your Android device nearby as you need to scan a QR code but once it is all activated it is a handy way of chatting, especially if you prefer a good old fashioned keyboard instead of a touchscreen one.
There you have it, 12 great tips to get the most out of your WhatsApp experience. You’ve probably already hidden your ‘last seen’ status and hopefully, some of the other points will come in handy for you too.
