To help get you started, we’ve compiled a list 5 great tips to help you get started with CATS, which you can download at the bottom of this page.
All about the win streak:
There are two methods of battling people on CATS: Crash Arena Turbo Stars. One is through the tournament sections and the other is “quick fight”. Quick Fighting gives you the opportunity to win boxes which contain new equipment to use in battle. Each quick fight you win in a row increases your win streak, which improves the quality of your new weapons or chassis. Try to keep your win streak going as long as possible.
Uncle Tony:
Your uncle Tony is the go-to guy when you want to bet on things. He’ll live on the main screen of the game and by tapping on him, you can bet on matches. Betting is a great way to add additional stats to your weapons, tires and chassis, however bet wisely. You don’t bet with coins, you bet your parts, so if you go and wager your three best items on a fight, and the fight loses, you’ve lost your best stuff. Be smart with your betting.
Understand your parts:
The main concept behind the game is that you have a general design of the chassis, which could be a variety of different shapes or sizes, and you’ll add different wheels onto it, along with weapons and gadgets to help you in battle. Each individual part has a health rating or power rating (or both, depending on the part) as well as a star rating. The higher the stars, the better the part.
You’ll also unlock better parts as you progress, so you’ll no doubt scrap that wooden saw you’ve fell in love with once the metal gear starts coming out.
Physics, physics & more physics:
The game takes real-life physics into consideration, which can be incredibly annoying when you lose because you’ve designed your machine badly. Sometimes a weaker machine will be victorious because it has been designed smartly. A tall, unbalanced machine may just fall over and become fodder for your cat to brutalize or your small box might flip itself over as the booster is too powerful.
Improve your skills:
Your main aim is to get promoted through the different stages of the tournaments. Each tournament has 14 other users (all human operated) and you need to either defeat all of them in one go, or slowly beat them all so you remain in 1st place at the end of league.
With each promotion you get, you’ll earn points which can be redeemed against skills. These skills include earning more coins or having more power points on your creations, so it’s definitely important to upgrade your skills as you progress.
