WhatsApp is one of the most used social apps in the world. It has millions upon millions of users and the developers are constantly adding new features for you to enjoy.

The latest of which included the ability to completely delete messages from both your device and the device of your recipient. And simply follow this link if you’d like to learn how to delete messages from WhatsApp.

New facts that have emerged suggest that even when these messages are deleted, logs of them are stored on your device. This means that in theory, it is very possible to retrieve messages someone has deleted from your WhatsApp chat.

So, how do you access these logs?

The first thing you’ll need to do is navigate to the bottom of this article and download the app “Notification History”. From there simply navigate through the app to find your logs. Now comes the important bit. The only way your device will create a log of your message is if you ‘interact’ with it in some way.

That means you need to either open the message or at the very least swipe it away from your notification bar. By doing one of these two things your device will count it as an interaction with the message and create a log.

Another worthwhile thing to take note of is that currently only partial parts of the messages are available to read. This means you’re limited to the first 100 characters are shown to you. While this can be very annoying, as you won’t get the full information of the message, you’ll also get a good idea of what they were trying to say or hide from you.

And it’s as simple as that. Download the app below and then start searching through your logs to figure out what you can find lurking away.
