How to Hide WhatsApp Last Seen From Certain People
WhatsApp continues to gain new users every day due to its popularity and practicality when it comes to its functions. Being an instant messaging service, WhatsApp allows its users to send and receive text and media messages from across the globe.
WhatsApp also boasts privacy settings that help protect its users from cyberbullying. On WhatsApp, you can control the people that view your profile photo, About, status, and last seen. In a bid to improve the privacy settings, WhatsApp is planning to change how the last seen option works.
Currently, if you wish to edit the last seen section, you only have three options: you can allow everyone to view your last seen, you can allow only your contact list, or you can hide your last seen status from everyone.
WhatsApp is working on an upgrade that will allow you to hide your last seen status from certain people. This function is already implemented in the Status section where you can block certain individuals from viewing your status updates. Once implementation is done and the new function is included in the last seen section, WhatsApp users will be able to scroll through their contact list, or use the search function to search for the name that they wish to block from viewing their last seen info.
To hide WhatsApp last seen from certain people:
- Launch WhatsApp by tapping on the app’s icon
- While on the launch page, tap the three vertical dots that appear on the top right side of the screen
- On the menu that appears, tap on Settings
- On the settings page that appears, tap Account
- Under Account settings, tap Privacy
- While on the Privacy page, find the “Last seen” section and tap on it
- On the options that appear, tap on “My Contacts Except…”
- Your contact list will appear. Tap to select the contacts that you wish to block from viewing your last seen
- When done, tap the Ok button
