How To See Who Viewed Your TikTok Profile
After TikTok updated its privacy policies and guidelines in 2020, it was no longer possible for users to see who viewed their profiles. In previous versions of the app, users were able to check and see which other users have visited and viewed their profiles.
It is not very clear why TikTok discontinued the very important analytic feature. Many TikTok users found the feature very important as it was a measure of how many people interact with their content and how popular they are on TikTok. In a previous related article, we highlighted how you can see who viewed your Instagram profile.
Fortunately, after reviewing its privacy policies and guidelines in February 2022, TikTok introduced the Profile views feature that allows users to see the history of the people who have viewed their profile for the last 30 days. The feature is optional and is off by default. This means that users have to turn it on first for it to work.
If you choose to activate the Profile views feature, you will only be able to see the viewers who have also turned on the Profile views feature on their accounts. Also, other profiles can see that you viewed their profiles, and only you can see who viewed your profile.
To activate the Profile view feature:
- Update your TikTok app to the latest version
- Launch the TikTok app by tapping on its icon
- While on the launch page, tap the Inbox icon located at the bottom menu
- On the page that appears, look out for the Profile views notification. Tap on it
- You will be redirected to the Profile views page. Read the available instructions and when done, tap the “Turn on” button located at the bottom of the page
- You will be redirected to another page where your profile view will be appearing. You will see a message saying “Profile view history will appear here”
You can also activate the Profile views feature by:
- Launch the latest version of the TikTok app
- While on the launch page, tap the Profile icon located at the bottom menu
- While on your profile page, tap the eye icon located at the top right of the screen
- You will be redirected to the Profile View page. Follow the activation steps as highlighted above
To deactivate the Profile views feature:
- Navigate to the Profile views page and tap the Settings button that appears at the top right side of the page
- On the popup message that appears on the screen, tap to switch off the toggle button next to “Profile view history”
