How to Make Your Own Sounds on TikTok

If you have used TikTok for some time, you must have noticed that some videos may use the same sound even though the content is different. These are sounds that are created by other TikTok users and have become popular and available for other content creators to use.

TikTok sounds that go viral may be in the form of speech, a part of a song with special effects, or even sounds. Creating unique sounds on TikTok that go viral may make you popular as a TikTok user. This piece highlights how you can make your own sounds on TikTok. In a previous article, we discussed how to make a TikTok duet video on Android.

To make your own sounds on TikTok:

• Launch the TikTok app on your Android device

• Tap the + button at the bottom of the launch page to start recording a new video

• When done recording your short video, tap the Next button

• On the next page that appears, add effect to your video as you normally do. Also, add a voiceover or a sound effect to your liking

• When you are done adding sound, tap the next button

• Continue to post the video as you usually would.

• Once the video has been posted to your profile, navigate to where it is, and play it

• You will notice a spinning record at the bottom right side of the screen. Tap on it

• You will be redirected to a feed page with the sound from the video. You can edit the name of the sound to something more catchy

• Add the sound to your favorites so that you can use it later

• If your sound is used by other content creators on TikTok, the feed page will list the videos that used it.

How to Upload an Existing Sound on TikTok

If you wish to pick up sound from an existing movie or clip and use it on TikTok, you will have to upload the video on TikTok, save the video as private, and save the sound. To do this:

• Navigate to the TikTok app and press + to create a new video.

• This time, tap on Upload instead of Record and choose the video with the sound from your gallery. Then, tap Next.

• Crop the video using the Adjust Clip feature to the exact point you wish. Tap Next when done.

• When you get to the Post page, tap Who can watch this video. Change to Only me to make the video private. Post the video when done.

• Open the video and tap the spinning record button in the bottom right corner as before.

• Change the name of the sound and Add it to Favorites to use it in other videos.
