Using Instagram’s live stream feature, you can showcase your work, life events, and sceneries you visit, and also make short presentations and your followers can comment and like what they see in real-time. If you use Instagram for business, you can use the live stream feature to demonstrate to potential clients how your product(s) works and even answer their inquiries that stream in via the comments section.

Instagram live stream feature can use your device’s front camera to display yourself, or the back camera to display your surroundings. Your followers will be notified when you start a live stream and they will be able to join and follow the stream. This piece highlights how you can live stream on Instagram.

To live stream on Instagram:

  • Launch the Instagram app on your device by tapping on its icon
  • While on the launch page, swipe the screen to the right, or tap the + button that appears at the top side of the launch page
  • On the page that appears, scroll right through the menu until you get to LIVE

  • When ready, tap the LIVE button to begin your live stream. Ensure that you have a stable internet connection to avoid interruptions during your live streaming.
