How to Check Telegram Account Creation Date on Android

As a Telegram user, you might wonder, out of curiosity or otherwise, when a particular account was created. There is no internal setting or feature on the Telegram app that allows you to know when an account, group, or channel was created.

However, some workarounds allow Telegram users, especially those on Android, to check the account creation date. In a previous related article, we discussed how one would identify a fake Telegram account. This piece highlights some of the methods and steps to follow to check the account creation date for a Telegram account on Android.

Method 1: Using a Telegram Bot

The @creationdatebot bot on Telegram bot provides users with information about when their account was created. To use the bot:

• Launch Telegram and tap the search icon that appears at the top right side of the launch page

• Search for the @creationdatebot and select the bot from the list of search results

• While on the bot’s chat page, tap the START button

• The bot will give you results with details including the date when the account was registered.

Method 2: Using the Data Usage Feature

Telegram has a data usage feature that allows users to monitor their data usage on the app. The data usage feature captures the data usage from the time the account was first used and provides the time and date when the data was first captured. This date represents when the account became active after installation.

To use the data usage feature:

• Launch the Telegram app on your Android device

• While on the launch page, tap the three horizontal bars located at the top left side of the page

• On the menu that appears, tap on Settings

• Under Settings, tap on Data and Storage

• On the page that appears, tap on Data Usage

• While on the Data Usage page, you can view the network data usage from the time you joined Telegram.

Method 3: Going through Old Chats

If you created your Telegram account and started chatting with other users on the same day, you can trace the chats and scroll to the first chat. Information about when the first message was sent will appear at the top of the chat.
