Both apps have various similarities in functionalities allowing for easy collaboration. Today, if you’re thinking about switching from WhatsApp to Telegram, it is possible to transfer chats from WhatsApp to the Telegram app. This makes the transition process easy and allows you to continue with your chats on the Telegram app.

It is possible to transfer both individual and group chats from WhatsApp to Telegram. Also, if the chats to be transferred have media files, you can choose whether or not to transfer the media files. How to Transfer WhatsApp Chats to Telegram on Android

  • Launch the WhatsApp app on your Android device
  • Navigate to the individual or group chat that you would wish to transfer
  • While on the opened chat, tap the three vertical dots located at the top right side of the chat
  • On the menu that appears, tap on Export chat
  • If the chat contains media files, a prompt will appear asking if you would like to include the media files. Tap “Include media” if you wish to include the media files. Tap “without media” if you do not want the media files included.
  • WhatsApp will automatically compile the chat’s data and generate an export file
  • From the Share menu that appears at the bottom of the screen, choose the Telegram app from the list of apps (You need to have installed and initialized the Telegram app on your device)
  • You will be automatically redirected to the Telegram app. Choose the chat to which you wish to transfer the exported chat file
  • WhatsApp will automatically begin the transfer process and when done, the transferred chat will appear on both the sender and the recipient.
