Using Someone’s Post on Feed

You can use an Instagram post that appears on your feed to see when you started following them. To do this:

• While scrolling through your Instagram feed, find the post of the username that you wish to investigate

• Tap the three vertical dots that appear at the top right side of the post

• On the menu that appears, tap on Why you’re seeing this post

• A message box will appear with the reasons why you are seeing that post. One of those reasons will be that you followed that particular user for a certain period.

Using the “Sorted by” Option

You can sort the people you are following on Instagram from the newest to oldest and vice versa. If you sort the people you are following from the oldest to the newest, you can have an idea of when you followed a particular person.

To use the Sorted by option:

• Launch the Instagram app on your Android device

•  Navigate to your profile by tapping the profile icon at the bottom right corner

• Tap on the Following tab to open your Following list

• Look for the “Sorted by” wording and tap on the sort icon

• On the pop-up that appears, select “Date followed: Earliest.” This will sort the list in order of when you followed each profile
