Instagram is taking photography seriously with its new update
To ensure that Instagram is seen as a serious photography app, Facebook has updated many of its features.
In 2012 Facebook sealed the deal that secured its takeover of Instagram, the photo sharing app with more than 50 million users. Now though it has introduced new effects and filters that aims to attract more hardcore digital photography lovers to the app.
The update will include nine new filters that will among other things, allow the user to control contrast, brightness, warmth and saturation. The new Instagram will go even further than this, offering users options to adjust the strength of the filter using a sliding scale.
There are other photography apps that already offer these tools such as the Be Funky Photo Editor but they do not share Instagrams’ social appeal The update will not provide Instagram users with as many editing features some apps but Facebook believe it has provided a selection of the best.
