5 best alternatives to Minecraft!
The story of Minecraft is quite the feat. An unknown developer (and game) dominating the Xbox marketplace before taking over your Android. While there probably aren’t any alternatives that are exactly like Minecraft, (because why would you want to play an exact replica?), there are some fantastic games which implement some of the core features of Minecraft while offering a fresh new style or idea.
Read on below to discover some great games that’ll leave you thoroughly entertained, and if you’ve played any games which are on the same kind of level as Minecraft then let us know in the comments.
The Blockheads
First on our list is The Blockheads. It’s a mixture of Minecraft and a platform adventure game that implements a combination of 2D and 3D. The idea is that need to build yourself some kind of shelter before nightfall otherwise you will freeze and die. Sounds very positive. It has the mining and crafting that Minecraft offers and you can jump around and have an adventure at the same time.
Block Story
What could be better than Minecraft? How about a game which is very similar to Minecraft but is also an RPG at the same time? There’s a story you can play through as you level up your character but you can also do all the crafting and building that Minecraft offers. It’s a great game to play if you want a fresh but similar Minecraft idea.
Guncrafter
Everyone loves a good gun now and again, so if you could craft your own guns (in a very Minecraft-esque kind of way) and then compete online to see who has the best gun, I’m sure you’d flock at the chance. You can discover new materials and the strength of your gun will be determined by how you build it. It’s creative, fun and rather addictive.
Survivalcraft
SurvivalCraft is probably the one game that is most similar to Minecraft. It has very similar gameplay and graphics although it does also offer a few extra bits and bobs. Beyond the mining, building and crafting of things, there is a world of survival just begging for you to explore it.
The Sandbox
The Sandbox has a little bit of everything for everyone. The idea is that you create your own world and then play with humans or zombies (you can decide which one). On top of that you can harvest your own crops and even compose your own music. What more could you want out of a game? It’s a lot of fun and the creative aspects really allow you to immerse yourself within the gameplay.
