Pokémon Duel: What is it about and how to play
Pokémon Duel is a new game that was released last week for both Android and iOS. If you’re a Pokémon fan or want to add another game to your arsenal, then take a look below to find out more about this addictive and entertaining title.
Sooo…the killer question…
What is Pokémon Duel?
Pokémon Duel, to put it bluntly, is a strategy game. The aim is that players will have their own Pokémon that they battle against their opponents. It takes elements of the old-school Pokémon games that we all fell in love with by allowing us to battle our friends with our little creatures. You’ll want to take over your opponents goal by being strategic and putting your skills to good use. The good news? It’s completely free and can be downloaded right now.
Okay, so now you’re thinking “I WANT IT! It has Pokémon!!” So I’m sure you’re eager to click below and just download the game. Before you do so however, you might want to know how to play the game…
How to play Pokémon Duel
First of all you will pick out six different Pokémon figures, as will your opponent, and you’ll place them on the game board. You’ll then take it in turns to move, with the hope and end goal that you will move closer and closer to your opponents goal. Eventually you’ll be able to capture their base and victory is yours to savor.
Each Pokémon has a different speed, or a different amount of moves they can make in each turn. Some can move three spaces a go whereas others can only muster up the speed to go one step ahead.
The board will start with ten spaces apart from you and the enemy. You’ll be able to select different effects that can be equipped to your Pokémon, some will let you swap and change the Pokémon you have out on the board, others will give you special abilities to increase your chance of success etc.
To prevent your enemy Pokémon from advancing, you can either surround them or unleash your aggressive side and do battle with them, although this does differ somewhat from the traditional Pokémon games of our past.
Doing Battle (Or destroying your enemy!)
If you don’t surround the enemy Pokémon then when you reach one of them, you will be thrust into an intense, exciting battle for power. That might sound a little too exciting, but you will be put into battle. The way this works is that each Pokémon has a pie chart which depicts their powers, moves etc. A dial will spin around and depending on who lands on the highest number is claimed the winner of the battle. The losing Pokémon is removed entirely from battle and the winner will gain a special reward. This could include new Pokémon or specialty items.
Another way to gain new Pokémon and items is to purchase them from the shop. This can be a great way to gain the edge over your future opponents, although if you don’t want to spend money then you can unlock things just by winning repeatedly.
So…What are you waiting for? Get dueling your friends and random people from around the world and become the ultimate Pokémon champion for Android!
