Best free music player apps to manage your own music collection
With streaming services such as Spotify becoming the go-to place for music listening, standalone players are becoming less and less popular. However, some people aren’t so keen on streaming music, or they boast a very nice collection of songs in their personal collection and would like to listen to them.
With that in mind, we thought we’d try and find some of the best music players for Android, given that the stock app isn’t all that brilliant. Take a look below and find something worthy of playing your media.
jetAudio HD Music Player
First on our list is jetAudio HD. It boasts quite a few features and if you don’t mind some adverts, it’s completely free. With this music player you can download plugins which are designed to enhance your listening experience as well as an equalizer, MIDI playback and much more. If you want something more in-depth than your standard music player then jetAudio is a great one to consider.
Phonograph Music Player
Next up is Phonograph. This music player hasn’t been out for years and years however it is a lightweight app that doesn’t take an age to figure out how to use. You can change themes, integrate Last.fm, play around with navigation features, create playlists and a whole lot more. If you want a simple music player that has a user-friendly interface, take a look at Phonograph.
Pulsar Music Player
If you want a completely free music player with absolutely no fee necessary at any point, then you definitely need to check out Pulsar Music Player. It has a great design, a good range of features and it even boasts Chromecast support, something a lot of apps make you pay for. It’s rather minimal when compared to some other music players on this list but that is by no way a bad thing.
Shuttle Music Player
Shuttle Music Player has gapless playback, tag editing, loads of themes and a wonderful six band equalizer. It is also completely free, with an option to pay if you’d like Chromecast support and a few extra features, although you can certainly enjoy what this music player has to offer without paying a cent.
Neutron Music Player
Last on our list is the Neutron Music Player. It has a built-in, completely Android independent, 32/64-bit rendering engine which will improve the sound quality of your music, along with a wealth of other features. The downside to this app is it isn’t cheap (currently at $5.99 if you want the full version) however everyone who has purchased it have had nothing but amazing words to say. It’s a great music player that should feature on every list.
