Hide Chats on Facebook Messenger Using Facebook Archive
The easiest way you can hide chats on Facebook Messenger is using Facebook Archive. To use Facebook Archive, you need to install the latest version of Facebook Messenger because older versions do not support Facebook Archive. To hide your chats using Facebook Archive:
- Open Facebook Messenger on your phone.
- While on CHATS tab, navigate to the chat that you wish to hide (archive).
- Long press the chat you wish to hide until an Options menu pops up.
- Select Archive on the popup menu.
- The chat will be automatically hidden (archived).
Hide Chats on WhatsApp using Archive
As a WhatsApp user, you also have the privilege of hiding your chats from other people. For you to use the Archive function, you need to use the latest version of WhatsApp since older versions don’t support the Archive function. The Archive function can hide both your personal and group chats.
Hide Personal Chats Using Archive
To hide personal chats using Archive:
- Open WhatsApp on your phone.
- While on CHATS tab, navigate to the personal chat that you wish to hide (Archive).
- Long press the personal chat that you wish to hide until a popup menu appears on the top of the screen.
- Click on the three vertical dots that appear on the extreme right of the pop up menu.
- Select Archive chat.
- The chat will be hidden automatically.
Hide Group Chats Using Archive
To hide group chats using Archive:
- Open WhatsApp on your phone.
- While on CHATS tab, navigate to the chat that you wish to hide (Archive).
- Long press the group chat that you wish to hide until a popup menu appears on the top of the screen.
- Click on the folder icon that appears on the pop up.
- The chat will be hidden automatically.
