More often than not, you will find yourself using the screenshot feature on your Android devices. While on social media platforms like WhatsApp, you would screenshot images or parts of a conversation that interest you.

But come to think of it, does WhatsApp notify others when you screenshot their conversations? Before you start worrying yourself with more questions, the simple answer is NO. WhatsApp does not notify other users when you screenshot their conversations. A possibility closer to this on WhatsApp is the ability to know when someone comes online.

In a bid to protect user privacy as dictated in their user privacy policy, WhatsApp does not find it fit to notify others when you take a screenshot of their conversation.

Other social media platforms like Instagram and Snapchat have this notification feature where other users get notified when you screenshot their Instagram stories and snaps respectively. A justifiable reason to notify the owner of a post when other people screenshot their content is that the content owner will always be aware of who is responsible in case unethical users decide to use the captured content maliciously.

Although not very clear, WhatsApp might in the future decide to implement the notification feature in their app. The feature may not always be on by default and would have to be enabled by users in the settings.
