Telegram has several features that ensure privacy for its users. One of the newest privacy features is the “Flexible routing” feature. This feature allows users to forward messages and media files without mentioning the sender ID. How cool! The new Telegram feature is important if you wish to send messages and media files to others without wanting to reveal the source.

If used correctly, the flexible routing feature on Telegram is very useful and advantageous. However, malicious users may take advantage of the feature to spread rumors and fake news. In a previous related article, we discussed how to pin a message or chats in Telegram. This piece highlights how you can forward messages and media files on Telegram without including the sender source.

To forward Telegram messages without including the sender source:

  • Upgrade your Telegram app to the newest available version
  • Launch the Telegram app by tapping on its icon
  • Navigate to the individual or group chat with the message you wish to forward
  • Tap and hold the message that you wish to forward. On the menu that appears at the top of the screen, tap the forward icon
  • On the page that appears, select the recipients of the message you are forwarding
  • Before tapping the send button, tap on the message being forwarded.
  • On the pop-up menu that appears, choose the option that hides the author’s name or the one that hides the caption- in the case of photos and videos
