How to Create a Direct Link for Your WhatsApp Group
WhatsApp allows group communication where people with a common agenda can chat together as a group. Anyone on WhatsApp can create a group and add participants to the group. However, it may be tedious to add members one by one, especially if they are many.
WhatsApp has devised a way to invite participants to join groups via links. This means that you can send an invite link to your WhatsApp contacts that will enable them to join your group. In another related article, we highlighted how you can leave a WhatsApp group without people knowing. This piece highlights how you can create a direct link for your WhatsApp group.
To create a direct link for your WhatsApp group:
- Launch WhatsApp on your Android device
- While on the CHATS tab, tap the three vertical dots that appear at the top right side of the screen
- On the menu that appears, tap on New Group
- On the page that appears, select or search for at least one participant for your new group. Tap the Next button located on the bottom right side of the screen
- On the next page that appears, type in the name of the group and tap the Okay button at the bottom of the page. The group will be created.
- Navigate to the newly created group and tap the group name at the top of the page to view the group info
- On the group info page that appears, scroll down to find “Invite via link.” Tap on it
- On the invite page that appears, tap on “Send link via WhatsApp” to share the created link to your contacts on WhatsApp.
- You can also tap on “Copy link” to copy the generated group link and share it on other platforms
