How to Delete Contacts on Telegram

When using the Telegram app on Android, you will have to synchronize the contacts on your device with the app so that you can chat with your friends. If some people on your device’s contact list are not using Telegram, you will have to invite them to join or wait for them to join Telegram for you to chat with them on the app.

There might come a time when you would wish to delete some or all of your Telegram contacts. Telegram has an in-built contact delete feature that allows you to delete contacts. Also, you can delete all synchronized contacts from your Telegram app. This piece highlights how you can delete contacts on Telegram. How to Delete a Single Contact on Telegram

To delete a single contact on Telegram:

• Launch Telegram by tapping on its icon

• While on the launch page, tap the three horizontal bars located at the top right side of the screen

• On the menu that appears, tap on Contacts

• Using the search button at the top right side of the screen, Search for the contact that you wish to delete

• Tap on the contact from the search results to open the chat page

• Tap the contact name from the chat page

• Next, tap the three vertical dots located at the top right side of the screen

• On the menu that appears, tap on Delete contact

• A confirmation message will appear, tap on Delete to confirm

• The contact will be deleted automatically

How to Delete All Telegram Contacts

To delete all your contacts from Telegram, you will have to delete all Synced contacts. To do this:

• Launch Telegram and tap the three horizontal bars located at the top right side of the screen

• On the menu that appears, tap on Settings

• On the page that appears, scroll to find “Privacy and Security” and tap on it

• Under Privacy and Security, scroll to find “Delete Synched Contacts” and tap on it

• A confirmation pop-up message will appear, tap the Delete button to confirm

• All your synced contacts will be deleted.
