Telegram is a popular messaging app that allows people to chat, share pictures, and connect with friends and family. While Telegram is a fun and useful platform, there may be times when you encounter users who are behaving inappropriately or violating the app’s rules.

If such cases arise, Telegram provides a report feature that allows users to report accounts. As a Telegram user, you can report accounts in a group or channel. When an account is reported, Telegram moderators will review the report and act against the specific account.

How to Report an Account in a Group/Channel

To report someone in a group:

• open the group or channel that has the account that you wish to report

• Locate the message from the account that you wish to report

• Tap and hold on the message

• On the menu that appears, tap on Report

• From the list of reasons, choose the most appropriate why you wish to report the account.

• You can tap on the Other option to type in your reason. When done, tap the send button.

How to Report Someone on Telegram Via Email

You can also report a user on Telegram by sending an email to the Telegram moderation team. To do this:

• Open Telegram and navigate to a chat with a contact that you wish to report

• Open their profile by tapping on their profile picture

• Tap and hold on the username to copy it

• Navigate to your email and compose an email containing the copied username

• Send the email to [email protected]

• The email will be reviewed and if there is probable cause, the account may be banned.
