How to Clear Instagram Search Suggestions

Instagram is a fun platform to share photos and videos and connect with friends. As you interact with your Instagram account, you may search for a username or a page that you wish to explore. When you search something on Instagram, it remembers it for next time. These are called search suggestions.

Sometimes, however, you might want to clear the search suggestions. Maybe because you searched for something wrong or we just want to tidy up our account. Clearing search suggestions is like cleaning up your digital space, giving you more control over what we see on Instagram. Instagram offers a built-in feature that helps users to easily clear their search suggestions. To clear your search suggestions on Instagram:

• Launch The Instagram app on your Instagram account

• While on the launch page, tap the search icon located at the bottom of the page

• While on the search page that appears, tap the search bar at the top of the page

• Recently searched pages and accounts will be displayed

• Tap the “See All” button to expand the search suggestion list

• Tap the X button next to each search to clear an individual suggestion

• Tap the “Clear All” button to clear all the listed search suggestions

 

• A confirmatory pop-up message will appear. Tap the “Clear All” button to confirm the deletion.
• The search suggestion list will be cleared automatically.

You can also clear your Instagram’s search history from the Accounts Centre. To do this:

• Launch the Instagram app on your Android device

• Navigate to the profile page by tapping the profile icon located at the bottom right side of the launch screen

• While on the profile page, tap the three horizontal bars located at the top of the screen

• On the page that appears, tap on Accounts Centre

• Scroll to find “Your information and permissions.” Tap on it.

• On the page that appears, tap on “Search History”

• Choose the account that you wish to clear the recent searches for

• On the page that appears, tap the X button next to each of the searches to clear them.
