How to Install APK Apps on your Android Phone or Tablet – An Alternative to Google Play
Can’t find an app on Google Play? No problem, downloading the APK you can have that app on your Android phone without too much trouble.
Our users are accustomed to getting Android apps and games exclusively through AndroidOut and Google Play, but another way is possible by downloading the so-called APK apps on your computer and then installing them directly on your Android device.
There are several reasons why users may want to do this, such as errors in the Google Play operation, not being able to access a Wi-Fi or 3G network, or even the case of a user who wants to install an app that has been removed by Google Play or who wants an older version of an app, that is compatible with the user’s device.
Well, now, without further introduction, let’s get to the interesting part!
1) First of all, you must find the desired APK app. You can do this with an Internet search from your computer, but be careful about the source, to avoid problems with spyware and viruses.
2) Download the file and save it in a folder you want. If it is compressed, you’ll have to uncompress it with the appropriate program (WinRAR decompression), before continuing with the next step.
3) Connect your Android device to your computer using a USB cable.
4) On the computer, access your phone or tablet and open the Download folder. Copy and paste the APK app into this folder. (If you don’t have enough space in the internal memory, you can use the SD card folder.)
5) Before installing the file you moved, you need to change the configuration for permissions of external downloads on the Android device. Access “Setup”, then “Security”, and check the option to “Allow the installation of apps from other sources”.
6) On your Android cell phone or tablet, locate the folder for files in the internal memory and open the download folder (or SD card, if applicable).
7) Select the APK file and press on “Install”.
And voilà! The app will have been installed and is ready to use.
