With over 300 million daily users, WhatsApp is one of the most celebrated messenger apps in the world today. To regulate the activities that are carried out on WhatsApp, the company has laid out policies that dictate the rules of engagement while using WhatsApp.

As a frequent WhatsApp user, you are required to always abide by these policies or face certain consequences, among them, being banned from using WhatsApp. Check out some of the policies you need to abide by to avoid a ban from WhatsApp in 2019.

To avoid being banned from using WhatsApp:

1. Don’t send illegal, obscene, defamatory, or threatening content

People can report you on WhatsApp for sending them obscene, defamatory, threatening or illegal content. This may result in you being banned from using WhatsApp after a review on the content you sent is done. To avoid this, always send healthy and reasonable content on WhatsApp.

2. Don’t register fake accounts

Creating new WhatsApp accounts with fake profiles that impersonate other people is against WhatsApp policies. If you are linked to any fake account, then you risk being banned from using WhatsApp.

3. Don’t send too many messages

Sending too many messages on WhatsApp mostly to people that are not in your contact list will raise the attention of WhatsApp administrators. You may be flagged as a spammer, and this will result in you being banned from using WhatsApp

4. Don’t send malware

If you intentionally or unknowingly send malware or viruses to people via WhatsApp, you risk being banned from using the app. It is advisable always to check any content before sharing with people on WhatsApp to ensure that it is safe.

5. Don’t tamper with the app code

Refrain from trying to edit or manipulate the WhatsApp source code. Doing this is against the policies at WhatsApp and may lead to you getting banned if you are caught.
