How to See the Exact Time Your WhatsApp Message Was Read

One of the best and most appreciated WhatsApp features is the ability to see if someone has read your WhatsApp messages. Using the ticks that appear on each message you send to an individual or a group, you can easily know if your message was sent, delivered, or read.

To further improve user experience, WhatsApp developers have in the recent past included the ability for users to see the exact time their messages were read. This feature increases accountability as people can easily account for all sent WhatsApp messages.

Seeing the exact time that your WhatsApp messages were read is however dependent on whether your “Read receipts” privacy feature is turned on. If the feature is off, you will not be able to send or receive Read receipts for individual messages. Read receipts are always shown for group messages.

To see the exact time your WhatsApp message was read:

• Tap and hold the exact WhatsApp message that you sent

• On the menu bar that appears on the top side of the screen, tap the Info button. It’s the 4^th button from the right

• You will now be able to view the Message info with the exact dates and times when the message was delivered and also read.

For WhatsApp group messages, the Message info will display a list of all those participants that read your message and all those that the message was delivered to. The exact time stamps will also be displayed under each participant.
