How to View Saved Wi-Fi Passwords on Android
You may have several Wi-Fi connections saved on your phone; maybe your home network and a couple from your friends or from the office. You may want to share the password of one of the networks with your friend but you cannot recall the password. Unfortunately Android does not allow you to view passwords from your saved Wi-Fi networks.
But you should not be worried; there are several apps that you could use to gain access to the passwords of saved Wi-Fi passwords from your phone. Amaze File Manager
After your phone is rooted successfully, you can use Amaze File Manager to access the passwords from your saved Wi-Fi passwords.
To use Amaze File Manager:
- Download and install Amaze file manager on your device
- Launch the app by tapping on its icon
- Open the app’s settings and navigate to the last setting where you authorize the app to open the root directory.
- Navigate into the directory tree folder by following this path: Data > misc > wifi.
- In the folder, search for a file named wpa_supplicant.conf
- Tap on the three vertical dots on the right side of the file name
- On the popup menu that appears, tap on Open as Text
- You will see a plain text containing information about all the saved networks in your phone including their passwords
Using Wifi Password Show
This is an easy to use app that will help you to view the passwords of the saved Wi-Fi networks on your phone. The app too requires your phone to be rooted. To use Wifi Password show:
- Download and install the app on your phone
- Launch the app by tapping on its icon
- A list of saved Wi-Fi networks will be displayed on the landing page
- Navigate through the list to find the network that you wish to know the password
- Tap on the network address name
- On the pop-up menu that appears, tap on Fullscreen to view the password
