Cyclists will love Maps 8.2 with elevation data among the updates
The new version of Google Maps, 8.2 adds even more features to the most widely used map application on Android. The improvements include elevation information that will help bikers choose a cycle route.
Cyclists will need to simply put maps 8.2 into cycling mode and select to view the elevation graphs. Those that love biking through rough terrain will understand the benefit of this additional feature. It will making choosing the perfect route for your mood easy and reliable.
The new elevation feature also allows the user to access a breakdown of the number of feet that they will be going uphill and downhill throughout a ride.
An additional feature of Google Maps 8.2 updates include an improved navigation mode. When travelling in traffic you can ask your device about traffic black spots ahead, the time till you reach your destination and how far away your next turn is. The only draw back is that to turn this feature on you have to touch the mic button, it is not voice activated.
The app is currently being rolled out so look out for the new update and get on your bike!
