Common WhatsApp errors and how to fix them
WhatsApp is one of the most popular social media apps that has ever graced the human race. We’re not quite sure how it came to be so absolutely wonderful, but it’s clear that we couldn’t imagine it not existing.
For that reason, if you are experiencing some errors with WhatsApp then you’ll want to try and sort them out as soon as you possibly can. And for those of you who for some reason haven’t yet dived into the world of WhatsApp, you can download it from the bottom of this article.
Problems Installing WhatsApp
Just because you have a smartphone doesn’t necessarily mean you won’t encounter “dumb” problems from time to time. To install WhatsApp on your device you need to be running Android 2.1 or higher, and technically it is only available for smartphones (not Android tablets).
That said, if you set your settings to allow for third-party installs, you can download and install the APK to your device, regardless of phone or tablet status. If you’re struggling to install it from the Play Store, visiting the official WhatsApp website should be your first port of call to see if you can get the APK from there.
Can’t See “Last Seen”
Whenever you or your contacts open up WhatsApp, the time you were last online will be displayed. That means your contacts can see when you were last on the app, and you can see when your friends were too. This doesn’t mean you (or they) have seen your messages, just that you’ve been active on the app.
Some people can choose to disable this option, in which case it won’t show up on your device when they were last online. A handy trick to stay more anonymous (and not get messages about ignoring your messages!
Activation Problems
When you first run the app, you’ll need to register it with your phone number. This will then be text an activation code for you to input and voila, that’s all there is to it. Sometimes however the text never comes through.
To remedy this, make sure you’ve entered your number correctly, and if it still isn’t working (or if you’re using a tablet and not a phone) request a phone call. This will give you a call from a computer who will tell you the activation code. Sorted.
Low Quality Voice Calls
Voice calls aren’t the primary purpose of WhatsApp, and as such can sometimes fall below the expectations we have for a decent conversation. If you’re planning on making a voice call, try to ensure you have WiFi rather than 3G, as this will seriously affect your quality.
Your friend will also need to ensure they have a good quality connection too otherwise regardless of your connection type, your quality will be poor.
WhatsApp is Blocked in Your Country?
If you are trying to install WhatsApp on your device but you can’t because you are unfortunate and live in a place which isn’t supported, don’t panic. You can still enjoy WhatsApp although you’ll need to use a VPN to get started.
WhatsApp Messenger
Send messages, photographs, videos and make video conversations all through one handy app. You can use for data plan so even if you’re out and about roaming around, you can still get notifications from your friends. It’s one of the biggest social apps on the market and shouldn’t be overlooked.
