Facebook Wants to Help You Find Free WiFi
For those of you who don’t know, Facebook is a social giant. The king of communication lets you send messages to your friends and family, locate and discover businesses, find people you may have long forgotten about and so much more. But of course, you probably already know all of that.
One thing you might not know however, is that Facebook also wants to help you find free WiFi. It’s incredibly simple to do and is very helpful to anyone who travels a lot or backpacks from place to place with a limited data connection. So how can you do it?
First of all you’ll want to make sure you have the latest version of the app installed on your device to ensure that the feature is available. Then just tap on the “More” tab from within the app and locate “Find WiFi”. The app will then track and log your location and cross-reference it against every business which shares its information with Facebook. If it provides free WiFi then it’ll appear within the list.
That’s literally all there is to it. You’ll then be able to find out how far away it is in relation to your location and away you go. The one downside is that Facebook will then track and log your location information regardless of whether you are actively searching for free WiFi or not, however you could simple disable the location feature after every search.
