How to hide the time of connection in WhatsApp
WhatsApp is one of the most used communication apps in the world, meaning it should be your go-to social application of choice. It’s packed with features and allows you to chat to your friends and family, completely for free. It also comes with a little feature which tells you when your friends were last online.
This is a great thing, and also an incredibly annoying thing at the same time. You ever read a message and decide to reply to it later? Then you get a message back saying “I know you were online, why aren’t you replying to me?”. Well that is an avoidable situation as it’s entirely possible to hide your ‘Last Seen’ status, and better yet, it’s incredibly easy to do.
Please Note: By hiding your own last seen status, it will also prevent you from seeing anyone else’s.
First things first, you need to open up WhatsApp. Once you’re on the home screen (so make sure you haven’t selected a specific chat) tap on the three dots in the top right-hand corner of the screen.
Navigate down to “Settings” and then find “Account”. This will bring up a few different choices, one of them being “Privacy”. Tap on that and you’ll be greeted with a few more options. You’ll see “Last Seen”. Simply tap on this and there will be a pop-up box appear with three choices.
- Everybody
- My Contacts
- Nobody
For the purposes of disabling the feature completely, tap on “Nobody”. This will ensure that nobody ever knows when you were last online, but it also means you won’t be able to see when other people were last online either.
It’s really that simple!
