How to Send WhatsApp Messages Without Adding As a Contact?

WhatsApp doesn’t need an introduction. It’s one of the biggest (if not the biggest) communication applications you can get. It enables you to send videos, photos, audio clips and of course messages to your friends and family, all over the world without paying a cent. There is one draw back to WhatsApp though, and that’s having to add people to your contacts in order to message them.

This isn’t annoying because it’s time consuming, because let’s be honest, it doesn’t take much to add a contact to your phone. It is annoying though because a lot of the time we might only message this person once or twice, or they could be business related or a contact you won’t use again. Clogging up your device with irrelevant phone numbers isn’t ideal.

There is a solution. It’s simple too although it does require you having a rather hard-to-remember link in order to achieve it. So, let’s delve into this new social solution.

The first thing you need to do is take this link and adjust it accordingly: https://api.whatsapp.com/send?phone=XXXXXXXXXXX

The adjustment you need to make is to replace all of the X’s with the number in question, along with the prefix. For example, if you were messaging someone from the UK, you’d have it like this: https://api.whatsapp.com/send?phone=441111111111 (with 44 being the country code for the UK)

Simply take that link (with the number in place) and paste it into your mobile web browser. You’ll get a request for authorization to allow your device to send a WhatsApp message to that phone. Accept it and you’ll be able to start a conversation with them without the need to add them as a contact.

And that’s it. It’s that easy. It is more effort than simply adding them as a contact but if you really don’t want to have them on your contact list, this is the best way to do it.
